Last week, the Accelerator wrapped up week 10 of the #CAAML cohort! As always, thank you to the SMEs and Navigators who support these companies and offer guidance and resources. We are so grateful for each and every one of you, and look forward to welcoming the cohort companies back for their final week of programming and Demo Day on November 9th!
Skip Smith, Attorney at Sherman & Howard, kicked off the programming sessions on Monday, October 23rd, with a fascinating presentation on Space Law treatises and the division of regulatory duties between FAA, FCC, and NOAA. Afterwards, Shannon Cambra and Kimberly Lingle briefed the cohort on Lockheed Martin and held 1-on-1 meetings with the companies in the afternoon to identify areas of synergy and opportunity. The day ended with an excellent Fireside Chat with the Honorable Sue Payton who discussed innovation and its place within the current DoD landscape. During the discussion, everyone enjoyed refreshments, asked questions of Sue, and discussed the importance of delivering innovative technology to the warfighter.
Over Tuesday and Wednesday’s sessions, Brian Ormsby, Founder and CEO at Pantheon Solutions, and Ernest Campos, Account Executive Space Programs at American Systems, presented to and met with the cohort companies. Brian led an informal workshop with the companies on government accounting. The session was incredibly valuable as he discussed how to create a compliant accounting system, unallowable costs, and pricing. During Ernest’s session, the cohort companies had the opportunity to be a part of an informative session on NIST/CMMC Assessment and Compliance for Government Contracts.
Additionally, Joseph Marney of defyDESIGN joined the Accelerator throughout week 10 to film and produce the cohort participants’ pitch videos for Demo Day. He explained,“Over the course of two days, all 6 of the cohort companies joined me in a Colorado Springs green screen studio. The companies are required to condense their pitch down to just 5 minutes, which is an incredibly difficult task. With Demo Day approaching, and the additional exposure these companies will receive, those are 5 important minutes! I am excited and honored to once again work with the Catalyst Accelerator by way of filming and editing those presentations. I genuinely enjoy seeing the footage we captured come to life. All of the companies did an amazing job refining their messages and representing their unique innovations.”
The Demo Day video will be released on November 6th. The Accelerator team invites all readers to the live portion of Demo Day which will be on November 9th, 4-7pm MT, at the Catalyst Campus. Interested parties can register here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/716055540397?aff=oddtdtcreator.
Thank you to each of the subject matter experts who donated their time to speak with the #CAAML cohort and answer their questions. The Catalyst Accelerator team is looking forward to the final on-week with this incredible group of companies!
