The Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) strengthens our national security by accelerating the adoption of commercial technology throughout the military and growing the national security innovation base. DIU partners with organizations across the Department of Defense (DoD), from the services and components to combatant commands and defense agencies, to rapidly prototype and field advanced commercial solutions that address national security challenges. With offices in Silicon Valley, Boston, Austin, and the Pentagon, DIU connects its DoD partners with leading technology companies across the country.

The Catalyst Accelerator, fueled by AFRL/RV and the United States Space Force, is a defense and national security industry accelerator, headquartered on the Catalyst Campus for Technology and Innovation in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The Catalyst Accelerator’s mission is to introduce innovative, dual-use technology to the Department of Defense in support of the US Warfighter while strengthening our nation’s economy by investing in start-ups and small businesses. The Catalyst Accelerator connects participating companies with users and potential customers from the Department of Defense and commercial realms to significantly reduce the customer discovery process from two years to less than three months.
