WHAT IS THE CATALYST COLLISION EVENT?

The Air Force Research Laboratory/Space Vehicles Directorate (AFRL/RV)-sponsored Catalyst Accelerator will host a 4-day pitch event where 23 startups and small businesses (8 from the current cohort companies) will have the opportunity to present to Government tech scouts their innovative, dual-use (government & commercial), space or space-related technologies, ideally with a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of 4 or higher (see levels outlined HERE). On the final day of the event, the 23 companies, along with an additional 7 companies, will participate in a Tech Gallery event where each will showcase their technology for Government tech scouts and leaders in the Space Community.

Ideal Company:

The Catalyst Accelerator team is looking for startups and small businesses that have innovative space or space-related technologies to pitch to Government tech scouts during the Catalyst Collision Event. Ideally, but not exclusively, companies will be under 5 years old with less than 70 employees.

Ideal Technology

All innovative space or space-related technologies will be considered for pitching. However, ideal applicants will have technologies with a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of 4 or higher and will already have a strong commercial focus with patents in place or applied for. Technologies of most interest align with the SpaceWERX Space Prime initiative. These technology sectors are listed below. Companies with space-based technologies that fall outside of these categories are still encouraged to apply. We don’t know what we don’t know! All unique, innovative space technologies will be considered!

ARMS Cyber Defense is a cybersecurity startup founded by three Vanderbilt alumni all with DoD and government backgrounds aimed at securing the legacy software in the DoD, IC, and US government. Arms Cyber Defense provides a proactive defense-in-depth cyber security solution by utilizing cutting edge micropatching (fixing known vulnerabilities) and code diversifying technologies. We do this by diversifying the code structure (scrambling the code structure, think radio frequency hop or whack-a-mole) so each application has a different code structure with no latency to the user. Adversaries will no longer have the ability to craft one exploit that can propagate throughout DoD/IC/Government systems because each application will now have a different code structure.
